Monrovia, Liberia - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has stressed her governmentís commitment to ensuring better livelihood in Liberian communities. She spoke today when she identified with residents of the Soniewhien suburb of Monrovia as they disposed of garbage in the area.

President Johnson Sirleaf also met with a 14 man delegation of the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, she pledged to start the process of vetting the draft act to legislate the National Youth Policy. She also urged the Federation to organize youths in various communities to perform community service which would be to its benefit.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Federation, Mr. George Wisner, emphasized the groupís commitment to ensuring that every aspect of the document is known around the country. He further called on the President to put concerns of the youth on the agenda at the upcoming Partnership Conference on Liberia scheduled for the United States of America next week.
