Vice President Boakai Constitutes Committee to Investigate Stand-off Between City Corporation and the Liberia Marketing Corporation

Monrovia, Liberia - The Vice President of Liberia, Honorable Joseph N. Boakai, Sr., who exercises oversight responsibility over the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA), has constituted a five-member committee to investigate the source of an apparent dispute between the L M A and the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) over the management of garbage. The Committee chaired by Mr. George Saah, Protocol Director in the Office of the Vice President, also comprises Mr. Terrence Sesay, Press Secretary, Office of the Vice President, Member, and representatives of the Ministries of Justice, Gender and Development and Internal Affairs. In a letter dated April 1, Vice President Boakai requested the Ministries of Justice, Gender and Development and Internal Affairs to nominate one person each to serve on the committee. “It is my hope that the Committee will work in a comprehensive but expeditious manner and advance practical recommendations in not more than three weeks,” the letter quoted Vice President Boakai as saying.
