New Speaker Pays Courtesy Call on President Johnson Sirleaf

Monrovia, Liberia - The newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives has paid a courtesy call on President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

According to an Executive mansion release, Speaker Alex Tyler met with President Johnson Sirleaf on Monday at her Foreign Ministry office in Monrovia.

The President congratulated Speaker Tyler on his election and hoped the legislature and Executive would continue to work together to move the country forward.

Speaker Tyler, for his part, assured the President that the legislature would remain construtively engaged with the Executive in addressing the challenges facing the country.

The meeting between President Johnson Sirleaf and Speaker Tyler was attended by Methodist Bishop, the Rev. Dr. John Innis.
