Monrovia, Liberia - Liberiaís Vice President, His Excellency Dr. Joseph N. Boakai has underscored Governmentís commitment to reconciliation, peace, security and economic development as the way of moving the country forward. He expressed gratitude to the United Nations (UN) for helping to stabilize Liberia after the civil conflict; noting that the UN has a central role to play in promoting mediation in pursuit of peace.
Vice President Boakai noted that as the country is poised to conduct another democratic election on October 11, 2011, a test to our commitment to democratic governance and peaceful co-existence, every action is being taken to ensure that the elections are free, fair, transparent and credible. He invited the participation of the international community to observe and monitor these elections.
