A 15 man delegation from Minnesota, USA, today met with Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, and discussed the working relationship between the Liberia National Fire Service and the Brooklyn Park Fire Department in the areas of training, equipment and logistics.

The team all experts in firefighting is in the country on a return visit and has already been engaged in a number of activities including carrying out repairs on the only fire engine owned by the LNFS and the distribution of firefighting equipment and medical supplies.
According to Ken Prillaman, head of the delegation, two fire engines are due here in July to beef up the capacity of the Liberia National Fire Service.

A release issued by the Vice Presidentís Office said a container with an assortment of equipment for the Liberia National Fire Service will also be here in Mid July as part of the cooperation between the Brooklyn Park Fire Department and the Liberia National Fire Service.
Vice President Boakai described the cooperation between the LNFS and the Brooklyn Park Fire Department as ďabsolutely wonderfulĒ as evident by the huge delegation to Liberia including two Liberians currently serving in key positions in the United States Fire Department.

Meanwhile, Ken Prillaman, head of the delegation has noted that the team will make a number of recommendations to the Government of Liberia being fully aware that Liberia is still faced with a number of challenges in its reconstruction programs.

He said for true economic growth to take place, investors must be assured of fire protection, a release from the Office of the Vice President concluded.
