Vice President Boakai Describes Germany As A Key Partner To Liberia

Monrovia, Liberia -Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has described Germany as a key international partner that has lend great impetus to Liberia’s development march within the framework of buoyant and vibrant relations that have subsisted between the two nations.
He said the Government and people of Liberia remain grateful for the outstanding role that Germany played in the cancellation of Liberia’s debt as well as assistance in agriculture, health, education and energy.

Vice President Boakai was speaking Wednesday, when he spoke at the Occasion marking the 22nd anniversary of Germany’s National day of Unity held at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Congo Town, outside Monrovia.

According to the Vice President’s Media Office, He applauded Germany’s unremitting commitment to ensuring the strengthening of the rule of law, the promotion of good governance, as well as Germany’s reverence for the upholding of civil liberties everywhere.

The release said, Liberia and Germany share common values as Liberia remains firmly committed to the promotion of the rule of law, accountability, peace and the respect of human dignity.
“Two decades of German Unity reminds all of human kind of the bountiful, priceless and immeasurable joy and progress that sustained unity and peace bring forth”, the Vice President is quoted as saying.

He has meanwhile conveyed to His Excellency President Joachim Gauck of the Federal Republic of Germany and to the People of Germany warm felicitations on behalf of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the Government and people of Liberia.
