UNMIL Deputy Chief For Political, Policy And Planning Takes Leave Of Vice President Boakai

Monrovia, Liberia -  Deborah Schein, Deputy Chief for political, policy and planning Section of the United Nations Mission in Liberia, UNMIL has taken leave of Vice President Joseph N. Boakai to take up a new assignment in the Republic of Southern Sudan.

Accompanied to the Offices of the Vice President Thursday by Mr. Samuel Udoko, Political Affairs Officer, Madam Schein thanked Vice President Boakai for the level of support his offices accorded her while in Liberia.

She recalled the difficult days of Liberia and spoke of the improvement in many areas of the Country since 2006. She said her time in Liberia will always be remembered.

Vice President Boakai wished her well in her new area of assignment.

Meanwhile Vice President Boakai Thursday received in audience a delegation from Fire Greek Global Petroleum Exploration Company. Accompanied to the Offices of the Vice President by Former Lands and Energy Minister Dr. Eugene Shannon, the delegation said they were in the Country to express their interest in on-shore oil exploration in Grand Cape Mount County.

Vice President Boakai welcome the delegation to his Office and said that there was not much competition in on-shore oil exploration at the moment in Liberia and restated that his role is to encourage and provide the needed support for those who want to do business in the Country.
