Careysburg, Montserrado - Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has been honored by the 1st Presbyterian Church of Careysburg in Montserrado County, describing him as” a man who is true to his country.”

The Vice President was among hundreds of Liberians who have thronged the Presbyterian Church in Careysburg to mark the 2nd Annual Musical Event in honor of Andy Buchanan Urey.
Over 20 different musical groups including soloists and instrumentalists were on hand to perform some of the greatest numbers in Gospel Music.

Presenting the award to the Vice President, Elder Karney Johnson described the Vice President as “a man who knows the common people and a man who is true to his people.”

Responding, Vice President Boakai called on Liberians everywhere to love one another because Liberia is a small society and  frown on those who pull their compatriots down each time they go up.
The event was also in memory of the Careysburg marching band, which became Liberia’s most talented marching band. The band was dissolved at President’s Tubman 2nd Inauguration when the Protocol Officer referred to them a “Caryesburg Band Boys.”
