I SEE THE FURTURE OF LIBERIA IN AGRICULTURE: says Vice President Joseph N. Boakai

Monrovia, Liberia - Vice President Joseph N. Boakai Thursday met with members of the German Parlimentary Group on Capitol Hill and extolled the long standing ties between Liberia and Germany.
The delegation escorted to the Vice President’s Office by Foreign Ministry Officials and Dr. Bodo Schaff , German Ambassador accredited to Liberia held intensive discussion on Liberia’s development programs according to a press release issued from the Office of the Vice President.

The Vice President recounted Germany’s invlovement in the reconstruction of post war Liberia through its many non governmental organizations including the Adenaur Foundation which was very instrumental in the training of Legislators during the first term of the UP led Government.
Vice President Boakai noted that investments in oil and other areas are very important for the country but the future of the Country lies in the agricultural sector.

Speaking further to the GermanParliamentary Group visiting the Country Vice President Boakai said, the urgent needs right now are in the energy sector because all investments depend on energy.
He said the uniqueness about Liberia’s reconstruction challenges is that the basic infrastructure was devastated during the years of conflict.

Touching on the area of road network, Vice President Boakai said, health, education and agriculture all depend on good road network if these services are to be effectively delivered to the people.
