Sight-Savers International Lauded

Monrovia, Liberia - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has expressed governmentís appreciation for services being rendered by Sight-Savers International, a group working in Liberia, particularly in the Southeastern  region to combat river blindness.

The Chief Executive Officer of Sigh-Savers International,
Dr. Caroline Harper, said her group has provided care for more than 800-thousand individuals affected by River blindness. The number, Dr. Harper informed the President, would increase substantially next year.

President Johnson Sirleaf expressed the hope that Sight-Savers would work with the relevant government institutions to strengthen their capacity to ensure sustainability. The President said government is prepared to work along with the group to achieve efficiency.

Sight-Savers International has offices in several African Countries including Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Ghana.
