Tuesday, 31st July 2007

Monrovia, Liberia -  Liberiaís Vice President Joseph N. Boakai is encouraging  investors to take advantage of the immense opportunities in Liberia.

He said due to the countryís untapped natural resources as well as the massive destruction damage done to the country as a result of the protracted conflict, all areas of the country are priorities, whether in the areas pf health, mining or other areas.

Vice President Boakai made the observation Monday when a three-man team from the France based MEDILAB GROUP, accompanied by Nimba County Senior Senator Prince Y.
Johnson, called on him at his Sinkor office.

He thanked all partners who at this critical time are responding to governmentís call to help bring relief to Liberians, and assured them of governmentís commitment to creating the conducive environment they need to operate freely.

The Vice president observed that many of the challenges the country faces at the moment are a result of lack of activity, and said one of the major concerns of the Unity party led government is to see activities that will engage the youth positively to ensure stabilization of the country.

He commended Senator Johnson for the keen interest he has demonstrated in tracking investments for the country.

Briefing the Vice President earlier, the head of the delegation, Avi Levran said his company has been supplying drugs for tropical diseases like Tuberculosis, malaria and AIDS in Africa for about 15 years.

Mr. Levran said his company was also interested in investing in the mining area.
