More Appointments Announced in Government

Monrovia, Liberia - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has made more appointments in government, pending confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

Mr. Andrew S. Allakamenin, Deputy Minister for Administration, Ministry of Commerce; Mrs. Hester Williams Catakaw, Deputy Minister for Instruction, Ministry of Education; Dr. Mohamed Sheriff, Deputy Minister for Administration, Ministry of Transport and Mr. Edward K. Goba, Deputy Minister for Land Transport at the Ministry of Transport. The President has also named a new commissioner to the Bureau of Maritime Affairs. He is Cllr. John W. Stewart.

According to an Executive Mansion release, the President has also named members to various Boards representing a number of Corporations and Agencies.

Cllr. Henry Reed Copper and Mr. Isaac Manneh have been appointed Board members of the Civil Aviation Authority while Dr. C. William Allen becomes Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Port Authority, which includes Mr. Morris Dukuly and Maureen Shaw as Board members.

The Liberian leader has also appointed Mr. Musa Bility as Chairman of the Board of the Liberia Water & Sewer Corporation as well as Ms. Jemima Caulcrick and Cllr. J. Baryougar Junius as members of the Board of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation.

Appointments have also been made to the Board of the Liberia Telecommunication Corporations.  Those appointed as Board members are: Mr. Wilson Tarpeh, Cora Peabody, Mr. Sam Russ and Ciata Victor.
