Monrovia, Liberia - The Ambassador Plenipotentiary of Philippines, Masaranga Umpa, has presented his letters of credence to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at the Foreign Ministry in Monrovia.

Speaking on Wednesday at the occasion, the President spoke of the remarkable economic growth the Philippines continues to experience under the leadership of President Gloria Arroyo. Liberia, the President said looks forward to working with the Philippines in enhancing relations between both countries. According to an Executive Mansion release, the President noted that Liberia was interested in learning from the Philippines experience that has ranked that Asian country among the fastest growing economies of the world.
 
President Sirleaf thanked the government of the Philippines for its peace keeping role in Liberia, recalling the partnership which has subsisted between Philippines and Liberia over the years.

Ambassador Umpa conveyed warm sentiments from President Arroyo and promised to work towards enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
