14 Year-old Boy off to India for Eye Surgery; Grateful to President Sirleaf, Eye Institute for Rescue Assistance.

Monrovia, Liberia: A 14 year-old Liberian boy, Friday Jacob who has been faced with a terrible eye disease has been flown to India for a major surgery. Friday Jacob has been battling with the strange eye condition for a prolonged period for some time.
According to an Executive Mansion release, Friday Jacob departed Liberia for India on Friday, November 26, 2016 via Kenya Airways with assistance from President Sirleaf. The Liberian leader also paid the travel expense for Mr. Kennedy Jacob and Harriett Dennis, the father of Friday and a nurse from the JFK Hospital respectively. Both are accompanying Friday Jacob to India for this critical surgery.
With intervention from President Sirleaf, the LV PRASAD Eye Institute based in India agreed to perform the operations on Friday’s eyes. The management of the JFK Hospital and the Indian Counsel General in Liberia, Hon. Upjit S. Sachdeva also played vital roles in the process.
Speaking before departure for India, Friday Jacob and his father expressed gratitude to President Sirleaf and all individuals and institutions associated with the process. They noted that Friday has lived with his pains for a prolonged period of time, but recognized that this was God’s timing for his healing.
