Monrovia, Liberia: President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has congratulated Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Vice President of the Republic of Liberia on the occasion of his 72nd November 30, 2016 and reaffirmed her unflinching support for his Presidential ambition in 2017. She praised him for his support over the years and described him as a Great Man.

According to an Executive Mansion release, President Sirleaf was speaking on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) at official program held in his honor to celebrate the 72nd birth anniversary of Vice President Joseph N. Boakai and Standard Bearer of the ruling Unity Party.
The Liberian leader thanked partisans and citizens for turning out in their numbers to congratulate and standing with Vice President Boakai during his birthday. She admonished them to continue their commitment and loyalty to VP Boakai and the Unity Party and Liberia at large.
Responding, Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai thanked President Sirleaf for honoring him by her presence at event. He commended President Sirleaf for affording him the opportunity to serve his people and Liberia as her Vice President. He reaffirmed his acceptance to contest 2017 elections. Vice President Boakai said: “At the Unity Party Convention in June, my friend and sister, President, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, gracefully handed to me the mantle of authority to take on as Standard Bearer of the invincible Unity Party. This was historic and unprecedented”. 
Vice President Boakai said he stands by the commitment he made in Lofa County during his petitioning ceremony by the people of Lofa County. He commended all Liberians for turning out to celebrate with him on his birthday and at the same time called on partisans and all Liberians to work together for the development and progress of  the nation, adding - “Think Liberia, Build Liberia and Love Liberia”.
Meanwhile, President Sirleaf early Wednesday morning visited Monrovia Football Academy located at the BYC practice ground in Central Monrovia commonly called “Blue Field”, which is owned by Mr. Robert Sirleaf and interacted with both male and female soccer students - while promising her support to the program. President Sirleaf said her visit to the Academy was in two parts: First to welcome Jill Ellis, U.S Women’s National Team Head Coach and 2015 FIFA Coach of the year; Ashlyn Harris, U.S National Team Women’s Goalkeeper to Liberia and to commend the family of the Monrovia Football Academy for developing the talents of young people particularly the children of Liberia.
Blue Field is also the home to one of the nation’s emerging football clubs, Barrack Young Controllers (BYC), owned by Mr. Robert Sirleaf. Interacting with the kids, the Liberian leader encouraged them stay in school and continue to do well in their lessons and be good and productive citizens of Liberia. She said she was proud to see them playing soccer, “ I am pleased to be here and see how you are doing, adding, if you played well you can be like George Weah who played and became world best or be like me if you want to be President.
She commended U.S Ambassador to Liberia Christine Elder for the arrangement of the gathering and the two facilitators from America and all of those who form part of the arrangement including the Management of Monrovia Football Academy among others. President Sirleaf was accompanied to Monrovia Football Academy by her Ministers of Youth and Sports, Information, among others.
