Vice President Joseph Boakai Leaves for United States of America

Monrovia, Liberia - Vice President Joseph N.Boakai at the head of a high-powered delegation leaves the country Suday for a two-week visit to the United States of America.

While in the United States, the Vice President will address the 62nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly which will be held in New York from September 25 to  27.

The Liberian Vice President will also meet and hold discussions with the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, U.S Vice President Dick Cheney, the Founder of the Christian Missionary Technical Services and Mr.Gary Allen of Christian Mission for the United Nations Community.

While in New York, Vice President Boakai will also appear on the United States Public Broadcasting Service Television program, "Charlie Rose" and attend receptions hosted by U.S President George Bush, South African President Thabo Mbeki, Guinean Prime Minister Lansana Kouyate, and a State dinner in honor of heads of state and government hosted by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon.

The Vice President will also attend a dinner hosted by Mr. Charles Huggins and international business partners in Manhattan.

The tour will also take Vice President Boakai to SanDiego, California, where he will   meet with select business people, officials of the Fioundation for Women Circle of Giving, which is assisting Liberian marketers with micro-credit.

While in San Diego, Vice President Boakai will also attend a luncheon hosted by the San Diego  Rotary Club, and deliver a speech during celebrations marking this year's International Day of Peace at the Institute of Peace and Justice in San Diego, California.

The Liberian Vice President is also expected to visit the Liberian Embassy in Washington and meet with officials and members of the Federation of Lofa Associations in the Americas (LFAA), before returning home on October 2.
