San Diego, California - The head of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice at the University of San Diego in California has agreed in principle for collaboration between his Institute and the Kofi Annan Institute of Conflict Resolution at the University of Liberia in the exchange of professors and students.

The Associate Dean of the Institute, Dr. Lee Ann Otto made the commitment Friday following a speech Liberian Vice Joseph N. Boakai delivered at a program marking International Day of Peace.

The associate dean also pledged to identify resources to make the collaboration possible.

Earlier in his speech, Vice President Boakai called for collaboration between the Kofi Annan Institute and the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.

He hoped the Institute for Peace and Justice would help identify resources and empowerment for the Kofi Annan Institute in Monrovia.

"This should extend not only to the exchange of ideas, but the exchange of students and professors," Vice President Boakai said adding, "The Liberian educational system is modeled on that of the United States, and I assure you that you will find this collaboration worthwhile".
