Ministry of State Opens Bids for Supplies

Monrovia, Liberia - The Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs today opened bids for office supplies, electrical tools, carpentry & masonry tools and materials for its smooth operation.

At the end of the period for submitting bids, which lasted from September to 12 noon on October 24, 2007, four companies expressed interest. They are ‘Triple T,’ a Liberian based company, Office Depot, Home Depot and Lowes Company, all based in the United States of America. In accordance with Section 61(1) of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission Act, the bids were opened immediately upon the deadline for submission. They have been forwarded to a five-man committee for technical evaluation, upon which the committee’s report will be submitted to a Procurement Committee for the awarding of a contract.

The formal opening ceremony held today at the Ministry of State also included 20 persons from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who served as observers.
