Vice President Joseph N. Boakai Challenges Liberian Designers and Manufacturers

Monrovia, Liberia - Liberiaís Vice President, Joseph N. Boakai has challenged Liberian designers and manufacturers to strive to attain standards that would make them internationally marketable.

He blamed Liberiaís back seat position in industrialization in Africa on the war which has not only devastated the nationís infrastructure, but left its economy in shambles.

He recalled that Liberia was making headway in industrialization in the 1980s, with several major factories operating in the country.

Vice President Boakai was speaking Friday following a visit to the Ghanaian Trade Fair now taking place at the Monrovia City Hall.

The Vice President expressed optimism that Liberia is once poised to attain industrialization under the Unity Party led government, and called on would-be investors to consider processing finished products in Liberia.
