Vice President Visits Bereaved Family And Injured

Monrovia, Liberia - The Vice President of Liberia, Joseph N. Boakai Monday morning visited the Matadi Estate Home of the family of the late Aluta Waley who died from injuries sustained Friday when the motorbike he was riding collided with a police escort jeep in the convoy of the Vice President.

Vice President Boakai consoled Mr. Joe Waley, father of the late Aluta and assured his fullest cooperation in helping the family move on with their lives.

The Liberian Vice president told the Waley family that investigation into the accident was ongoing, and that he deeply regretted the tragic loss of life as a result of the unfortunate accident..

Vice President Boakai also visited the John F. Kennedy Hospital, where Mr. James M. Vargbelee, Jr. who was riding with the late Aluta is currently receiving treatment.

The Liberian Vice President also consoled the accident victim and wished him speedy recovery.

 Aluta Waley and James Vargbelee, Jr. were riding a motorbike Friday evening when they collided with the Vice Presidentís motorcade as the bike tried to avoid running into a taxicab that had packed to give way to the upcoming  motorcade.
