VP Describes Senator Johnsonís Death as Great Loss

Monrovia, Liberia - Liberiaís Vice-President Joseph N. Boakai has described the death of River Gee County Senator Isaac Johnson as a great loss to the Liberian nation.

He described the fallen senator as an honest and straight forward person who never compromised his principles during legislative debates.

Speaking Tuesday during a visit to the Claratown residence of the fallen senator, Vice President Boakai, who is President of the Liberian Senate, challenged the bereaved family to seek Godís solace in their period of mourning.

Earlier in remarks, the Senior Senator of River Gee County, Counselor Frederick Cherue, welcomed the Vice President to the home of the Johnson family and thanked him for the visit.

Also in remarks, the eldest son of the late Senator is calling on the Liberian Senate to constitute a committee to investigate the death of his father. Senator Johnson died on November 13 at the John F. Kennedy Hospital following an operation.
