Vice President Boakai Returns from China

Monrovia, Liberia - Liberian Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, at the head of a ten-man delegation, returned home July 12 following a ten-day state visit to the People’s Republic of China.

The SN Brussels flight which brought Vice President Boaki and party touched down at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) at about 19.20 hours.

Speaking at a welcome party hosted in his honor at his Rehab residence, Vice President Boakai described the visit to China as a “big success.” He said the visit gave him and his delegation the opportunity to see how Chinese conduct their affairs, noting, “We were impressed.”

He noted that all Liberians have known for so long is destruction, and hoped that Liberia would change.

Vice President Boakai was accompanied to Chna by Second Lady Kartumu Y. Boakai, Planning and Economic Affairs Minister Amara Konneh, Posts and Telecommunications Minister Jeremiah Sulunteh,  the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Vice President, Samuel Stevquoah, and Assistant Foreign Minister for Afro-Asian Affairs, George Wisner.
