Vice President Boakai Hails The Catholic Church

Monrovia, Liberia - Vice President Joseph N. Boakai Sr., has hailed the Catholic Church for partnering with the Liberian Government to give direction to the nationís youth.

He observed that the Church has over the years helped to instill discipline and moral values in the youth.

He noted that prelates of the Catholic Church, notably Bishop Michael Kparkala Francis,  over the years spoke out against ills in the Liberian society, and played a pivotal role in ending the Liberian conflict. 

In remarks when the newly inducted Bishop of the Diocese of Gbarnga, Father Anthony Borwah paid a courtesy call on him at his Capitol Building Office earlier this week, Vice President Boakai also commended the Catholic Church for partnering with the Liberian Government in preparing the nationís youth for future leadership roles.

He observed that the high educational standards being imparted into our youths by the Catholic Church are preparing them to compete in any part of the world.

In remarks, Bishop Borwah thanked Vice President Boakai for gracing his ordination ceremony in Gbarnga, Bong County last month.

He commended the government for the strides it is making in the reconstruction of the war-ravaged country and putting on the right trajectory for development.
