Vice President Calls for Calm within Amputee Football Federation

Monrovia, Liberia - The Ad Hoc Investigation Committee constituted recently by Vice President Joseph N. Boakai to investigate claims of impropriety in the January 11 Amputee Football Federation elections Tuesday presented its recommendations to the Vice President at his Sinkor office.

Receiving the report, Vice President Boakai called on members of the Amputee Football Club to remain calm and patient while the report is being reviewed.

Vice President Boakai assured all stakeholders of the Amputee Football Club that within a very short time, he would contact them to come out with a decision.

Recently, Vice President Boakai appointed a five-member committee headed by Reverend Tolbert Jallah, Jr. of the Liberia Council of Churches to conduct a comprehensive investigation into allegations of impropriety during the first general elections of the Amputee Football Federation held on January 11, 2008.

In the report, the committee advanced a five-point recommendation intended to lay to rest the brouhaha within the Federation.

Other members of the Committee are: Mr. Natan Bengu of the Press Union of Liberia, Mr. Sam Hare, Jr. of the Youth and Sports Ministry, Mr. Eric Williams of the Liberia National Olympic Committee and Reverend D.E Sam-Peal, Director of Special Projects in the Office of the Vice President.
