President Boakai Announces Reshuffle and an Appointment at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Monrovia, Liberia – The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has announced a strategic reshuffle and new appointments within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, affecting key Assistant Ministerial positions. The changes are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of Liberia’s foreign service and enhance the coordination of the country’s international engagements.
Mr. Daniel Kokoi, formerly Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, is reassigned as Assistant Minister for International Organizations. Mr. Leon Talery, who previously served as Assistant Minister for European Affairs, is now appointed Assistant Minister for International Cooperation. Madam Naomi Gray, formerly Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, is reassigned as Assistant Minister for European Affairs.
Additionally, the President has appointed Madam Jackie McCay as Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs. This portfolio is responsible for foreign service coordination and the welfare of Liberians abroad, in support of the responsibilities of the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Madam McCay brings to the position vast experience working with Liberians in the diaspora and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by foreign service personnel, gained through her years of living and working abroad.
President Boakai has expressed confidence that these appointments and reassignments will further strengthen Liberia’s foreign service, enhance professionalism within the Ministry, and improve service delivery to Liberians at home and abroad.
The President calls on all newly appointed and reassigned officials to discharge their duties with diligence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to national service.
