President Boakai Returns to Monrovia Following Annual Christmas Visit to Lofa County

Executive Mansion, Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Sunday, returned to the nation’s capital, Monrovia, at the close of his annual Christmas visit to Lofa County, where he received widespread support and commendation from citizens for his leadership and stewardship.

The President concluded his five-day visit on Saturday, December 27, during which he maintained a full schedule of engagements across communities within the Foya Statutory District.

The visit was marked by goodwill messages, reconciliatory engagements, town hall-style interactions, and development-related activities.

President Boakai first stopped in Porluma Town, Waum Administrative District, where he witnessed the official induction of the Township and the District Commissioners.  While in Porluma, the President also broke ground for the construction of a new District Hospital, reinforcing his Administration’s focus on improving access to healthcare in rural communities.

Residents expressed deep appreciation for the President’s reconciliatory leadership style and his decision to personally engage with citizens. As a gesture of gratitude, community members presented livestock, including a cow.

The President then proceeded to Tengia Town in the Tengia Administrative District, where he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from residents. There, he was presented with gifts and messages of encouragement and support. During the visit, President Boakai paid a solemn visit to the newly refurbished grave of his late Grandfather, Honorable Kettor Ngrulumai.

The day’s activities culminated in Worsongar, the President’s birthplace, where he was received with jubilation and heartfelt warmth.

In Worsongar, President Boakai visited the bridge connecting Liberia and Sierra Leone, which he constructed, and inspected the local clinic and school facilities.

Upon his return to Foya City, the President received numerous visitors from across Lofa County and beyond, who came bearing goodwill messages, gifts, development proposals, and issues of personal and community concern.

President Boakai has maintained a longstanding tradition of spending Christmas in Lofa County, celebrating with the people of Foya and surrounding communities, reaffirming his close ties to his roots and his continued engagement with citizens at the grassroots level.
