President Boakai Welcomes Lawmakers as Liberia Receives First Earth-Moving Equipment for Major Road Projects
At the Executive Mansion in Monrovia on February 26, 2026, Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. received a courtesy visit from members of Liberia’s 55th Legislature, led by Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon, following the arrival of the country’s first batch of earth-moving equipment dedicated to national road development.
The President described the acquisition as a major milestone made possible through collaboration between the Executive and Legislative branches. He emphasized that the equipment will be used to construct roads, build bridges in rural communities, and expand access across Liberia—strengthening economic growth and national unity.
President Boakai also announced plans for a groundbreaking ceremony for a major four-lane highway project stretching from St. Paul Bridge to Bo-Waterside and Mandikorma, extending through Gbarpolu County to boost regional trade and mobility.
Speaker Koon, joined by Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah and other lawmakers, praised the Administration’s infrastructure efforts, calling the development a “new dawn” for Liberia’s road sector and pledging continued legislative support.
The visit highlighted unity between branches of government and reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing infrastructure, rural development, and inclusive national progress.
